Technology and Training – an important component in Security Services
Our modern marked security patrol vehicles play a crucial role in effective security operations, offering a range of benefits that enhance both deterrence and response capabilities. Their highly visible markings serve as a strong visual deterrent to potential criminals, signaling an active security presence and reducing the likelihood of unlawful activity. This visibility also reassures residents, employees, and visitors that the area is actively monitored, promoting a sense of safety and trust.
Equipped with advanced technologies such as GPS tracking, two-way radios, and real-time incident reporting systems, these vehicles significantly improve communication and response time. Security personnel can quickly relay information to control centers or law enforcement, ensuring a swift and coordinated response in emergencies. Our modern patrol vehicles are also designed for comfort and practicality, featuring storage for emergency equipment, first aid supplies, and digital tools.
Moreover, our marked vehicles make it easier for the public to identify us as legitimate security personnel, reducing confusion during incidents and increasing cooperation. In commercial or residential environments, regular patrols with these vehicles demonstrate accountability and professionalism. Overall, our modern marked patrol vehicles are a vital component in delivering visible, responsive, and technology-enhanced security services.

Radio System

Both our Patrol Vehicles as well as all Officers (on-site and patrol) utilize an integrated, United States Government contracted, secured radio system known as FirstNet. This integrated radio system provides substantial benefits for security personnel, significantly enhancing communication, coordination, and overall operational efficiency. Unlike basic walkie-talkies, this modern integrated radio systems connect officers, supervisors, and control centers through a secure and reliable communication network. This allows for
real-time updates, rapid response to incidents, and effective coordination across large or multi-site locations. In emergency situations, every second counts—integrated radios ensure that vital information is transmitted instantly, without the delays of traditional methods.
These systems include features such as GPS tracking, emergency alert buttons, and noise-canceling audio, enabling officers to communicate clearly even in loud or high-pressure environments. Integration with our 24 hour central dispatch center and software also allows for automatic logging of incidents and officer movements, enhancing accountability and reporting accuracy. Additionally, our point to point encrypted and secure communication channels keep sensitive information secure and isolated from unrelated personnel or the general public
The use of the FirstNet integrated radio system boosts team cohesion, improves safety, and minimizes miscommunication. By streamlining communication, our security officers can focus more on their primary responsibilities—monitoring, patrolling, and protecting people and property—while supervisors maintain better oversight of operations.

Our security officer dispatch center is a vital component of our professional security operation, offering centralized coordination, rapid response capabilities, and enhanced oversight. One of the primary benefits is real-time communication between guards in the field and dispatch personnel. This centralized system ensures that incidents are reported and responded to quickly and efficiently, minimizing potential harm and disruption.
Our dispatch centers also play a critical role in resource allocation, allowing supervisors to deploy security officers strategically based on location, urgency, and availability. Using modern technology such as GPS tracking, integrated radio systems, and digital incident reporting, dispatchers can monitor officer movements, log activities, and maintain situational awareness at all times.
Furthermore, our dispatch center serves as a control hub for managing emergencies, coordinating with law enforcement, and documenting events accurately for future reference or legal purposes. It enhances accountability by keeping detailed records of communication, officer assignments, and incident responses.
For our clients, the presence of a dispatch center reflects a higher standard of professionalism and reliability. It reassures them that as their chosen security provider we are able to handle incidents swiftly and maintain continuous oversight.
In addition to the center itself, our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system system also allows officers to request and run criminal background checks, Vehicle License Checks as well as contains all client data. Officers also utilize the system to write reports which are emailed directly to clients.

OFFICER TRAINING

Our comprehensive security officer training is the cornerstone of our
organization and is essential for preparing our personnel to handle a wide range of situations with professionalism, confidence, and competence.
This training typically includes several key types: basic security procedures, legal knowledge, emergency response, conflict resolution, customer service, and technical and use of force systems training.
Basic security procedures cover patrol techniques, access control,
observation skills, and report writing. Officers learn how to maintain a secure environment through routine checks and by identifying suspicious behavior.
Legal knowledge ensures officers understand the laws surrounding their
authority, use of force, arrest, and citizens’ rights, reducing liability risks for both the officer, Hawkeye Security and by extension our clients.
Emergency response training prepares guards to act swiftly in fires, medical incidents, evacuations, or security breaches, potentially saving lives. To this end, part of the officers initial and recurrent training includes certification in both First Aid and CPR.
Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills are critical in handling disputes or aggressive behavior without resorting to force. Additionally, comprehensive
customer service training is increasingly important, especially in retail,
residential, or corporate settings, where our officers often serve as the first point of contact.
It is important for our officers however to be thoroughly trained and certified in use of force training as well. This tactical training provides our security
officers with the advanced skills needed to respond effectively to high-risk
situations. It enhances their ability to assess threats, maintain situational awareness, and act decisively under pressure. This type of training includes defensive tactics, controlled use of force, room clearing, and active shooter response. Our officers receive comprehensive training and industry
recognized ASP certification in the deployment of handcuffs, Defensive OC Spray, use of the Tactical Baton. In addition, our officers are trained in and equipped with a less lethal Conductive Energy Weapon (commonly known as a Taser). For our Armed Officers, additional tactical training and semi-annual firearm qualification and training ensures our Armed Officers are both
competent and capable in their duties. The tactical training required of our officers ensures they are better prepared to protect people and property in dynamic environments, such as large events, corporate facilities, or high-security areas. It also boosts their confidence and professionalism, reducing liability and increasing trust from clients who expect a higher level of preparedness and security presence on site.
Lastly, with the growing use of surveillance systems, access control technology, and communication devices, officers must be trained in technical
systems to operate and troubleshoot equipment efficiently.
The benefits of our comprehensive training are clear: our officers become more effective, reliable, and professional. These well-trained personnel
reduce risks, enhance safety, improve client satisfaction, and uphold the
reputation of Hawkeye Security. Overall, comprehensive training builds trust with clients and ensures our officers are fully prepared to meet the demands of modern security environments.
** IMPORTANT NOTE ** State certifying agencies only require a basic overview course on security law for a person to be “certified” as a Security Officer. Hawkeye Security goes far above and beyond this to include a
comprehensive Hawkeye Security Academy and additional training by a Field Training Officer before the officer is allowed to work independently. We ensure that all officers who are on your premises have the requisite knowledge and skills to respond to any and all issues that may arise while projecting a
professional image.
